School Meals
Ordering the meals
We use fresh supplies in all our meals. This means we must know which ingredients need to be ordered before the actual day of the meal being prepared and served.
We ask parents/ guardians to pre order a week’s worth of meals at a time, with the cut off time being two days prior to the lunch being taken. We are sure you appreciate that the caterers need time to compose the ingredient lists across all meals for the following week.
Lunches are to be ordered using the online platform Arbor.
Paying for and booking meals.
The lunch service is freshly bought & prepared, with the aim of encouraging the children to eat and enjoy their lunch. The current price of a lunch is £2.74.
When you are ordering your meals, you will need to login to the Arbor app, select the menu on the bottom left hand corner, meals, select the current term, select the day that you would like your child to have a meal, select the meal choice ONLY – do not select a pudding choice as this will override your booking, confirm choice and then top up your account.
FAQs
- What happens if you book a lunch and then your child is unable to attend school, is sent home ill, or you provide a packed lunch for one of the days?
- Notify the school office by 09:30 on the day, and your pre order for that day will be cancelled and the £2.74 will not be deducted from your balance. If you fail to notify the office by 09:30, then the meal has to be charged for as the preparation begins early in the day. If your child is sent home ill before lunch, then the £2.74 for that day will not be charged.
- Do I need to accommodate school trips or official school days away from site?
- No. If your child is not at school for the lunchtime session due to any official trips, no meal will be prepared for you and no money deducted.
If you have any queries regarding school lunches please contact the school office (office@bcjs.org.uk).
