Sport Premium Overview
Since 2013, the government has allocated additional funding to enhance the delivery of Physical Education (PE) and sports in primary schools. This funding is known as the Sports Premium Grant (SPG).
Sports Premium Strategy
Next Review Date: July 2026Introduction
The Sports Premium Grant (SPG) is a government initiative designed to provide supplementary funding aimed at creating sustainable improvements in the provision of PE and sport. This funding is intended to benefit all primary-aged students, encouraging the development of healthy and active lifestyles.
The core objectives of the Sports Premium are:
Enhance Existing Programs: To develop or expand the existing Physical Education, School Sport, and Physical Activity (PESSPA) activities already offered by the school.
Build Long-Term Capacity: To improve the school’s overall ability to deliver high-quality PE and sports programs, ensuring that the benefits continue for future cohorts of pupils.
The government has identified five key indicators for monitoring the impact of the Sports Premium Grant.
Reporting 2024-2025
In July 2025, the government introduced a new way for schools to report on their spending of the Sports Premium Grant through the introduction of a consistent reporting submission. Below, you can find reports for the spending from 2020-2025 for comparisons.
For 2024-2025, the school received £19,100, of which all was spent.
